 Jake DeleonFounder, Fila Manila | FoundersHeritage.org Jake Deleon is the founder of both Fila Manila, the #1 Filipino American food brand, and FoundersHeritage.org a community of BIPOC founders who have started heritage-inspired brands. Growing up as a 1st generation Filipino American immigrant, Jake's first foray into the food business was at age six by helping his mom make Filipino delicacies in their kitchen, then selling to neighbors for extra family income. Since then, food was symbolic of hard work, connection, and love. This led Jake to a successful career in consumer goods where he managed and grew beloved global food brands like Pringles and Starbucks. Jake started Fila Manila during the 2020 pandemic, sparked by the insight that Filipinos represented the 2nd largest Asian American community yet had almost zero representation in US grocery. Since then, Fila Manila has expanded nationwide with three award-winning product lines and has become the #1 Filipino American food brand. In 2023, Jake also founded FoundersHeritage.org, an industry networking group comprised of BIPOC founders who have started heritage-inspired brands. |
