Michiel Bakker
Vice President, Global Workplace Programs, Google
Michiel Bakker is an accomplished senior strategic, multi-disciplined, global ‘services and experiences’ business leader, grounded in hospitality with a touch of technology. As the visionary behind Google’s celebrated flagship Food@Work program, he brings deep experience in global operations, people, project, program, design / development, change management and food systems. He presently leads Google’s Real Estate and Workplace Services’ (REWS) Global Workplace Programs Team (= Food, Transportation, Sustainability, ‘Global Events, Amenities and Guest Services’, Health and Performance and Placemaking) with overall responsibilities for the ongoing delivery of Google’s global workplace programs & services to over 250K individuals around the world (55 countries). He is an active contributor to various Advisory Boards around the world, including the Culinary Institute of America (USA) Menus of Change Business Leadership Council, the Yale Center for Customer Insights’ Advisory Board (USA), the EAT Advisory Board (Sweden), and the Food & Agriculture Board of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. He is also a member of the James Beard Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the Dutch food waste focused startup Orbisk Supervisory Board. Michiel is also the host of the Food Lab Talk podcast (www.foodlabtalk.com), a podcast about bold visions and inspiring actions for the future of food systems. (www.foodlabtalk.com). Before joining Google in 2012, Michiel spent two decades in global hotel and food and beverage operations, creating and building out partnerships, leading hotel F&B developments, openings, and food experience design. Michiel holds an Executive MSc degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business (CO), a Master of Hospitality Administration degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas), a MBA degree from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom) and a Bachelor’s Degree Hotel Administration from the Hotel Management School Maastricht (The Netherlands). |
Pete Brennan
Vice President Innovation, Mattson
As Vice President of Innovation, Pete is responsible for identifying client opportunities and leading the discovery of insights, development of innovation strategies and product concepts, positioning, all the way through to commercialization. Pete has deep experience across food & beverage CPG channels, categories, & companies. Pete draws on 20 years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods space spanning wine to waffles, frozen entrees & pizzas to fresh chicken & organic snacks, plant-based burgers to plant-based energy and hydration beverages. He has worked on iconic and award-winning brands and products at companies big and small, such as Gallo, Kellogg, Del Monte, Foster Farms, and even a start-up of his own with his wife. He has taken part in various pitch slams and has won Effies and Nextys throughout his career. On a volunteer basis, Pete serves on the executive team of Naturally Bay Area’s board in addition to Naturally Network’s National Board of Directors. Pete is focused on putting companies on the path to delivering ROI for companies through Mattson’s approach to Renovation, Optimization, and Innovation. He works closely with Mattson’s team of food technologists, culinary artists, scientists, sourcing, commercialization and regulatory experts. Pete received his BS in Business - Marketing from Arizona State University and his MBA with Honors from University of Notre Dame. |

Dan Buckstaff, serving as the Chief Marketing Officer at SPINS, ensures the company's strategic positioning deepens its relationships with retailers, CPG brands, and their supporting ecosystem. To foster organizational alignment, Dan integrates product marketing with communications, thought leadership, and execution and places a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration. Prior to his role at SPINS, Dan held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at LiveRamp, a leading SaaS Data organization.
